Illinois counties
Cook County — the City of Chicago, including the Clearing and Midway industrial belt, Pullman and Burnside, the Stevenson corridor, Goose Island, the Pilsen industrial corridor and the Lake Calumet area. Suburban Cook: Elk Grove Village, Bedford Park, Franklin Park, Schiller Park, Northlake, Melrose Park, Broadview, Bellwood, Hillside, Cicero, Berwyn, Alsip, Bridgeview, Summit, McCook, Hodgkins, Willow Springs, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Wheeling, Palatine, Schaumburg, Rolling Meadows, Niles, Skokie, Evanston, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Chicago Heights, Harvey, Markham, Calumet City, Lansing, South Holland, Tinley Park.

Will County — Joliet, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Elwood, Lockport, Plainfield, New Lenox, Mokena, Frankfort, Crest Hill, Channahon, Wilmington, Monee, University Park, Beecher, Peotone, Shorewood, Braidwood.
Kane County — Aurora, Elgin, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, South Elgin, Carpentersville, Montgomery, Sugar Grove, North Aurora. Aurora is worth a note: the city extends into Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will Counties, so the county on the parcel record is a real question rather than a formality.
Lake County, Illinois — Waukegan, North Chicago, Gurnee, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich, Grayslake, Round Lake, Zion, Antioch, Deerfield, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Wauconda. We label the state every time, because there is also a Lake County in Indiana in this same metro.
McHenry County — Crystal Lake, McHenry, Woodstock, Huntley, Algonquin, Cary, Lake in the Hills, Harvard, Marengo.
Kendall County — Yorkville, Oswego, Plano, Montgomery, Minooka, and the Kendall portion of Joliet.
Grundy County — Morris, Minooka, Coal City, Diamond, Mazon.
DeKalb County — DeKalb, Sycamore, Sandwich, Genoa, Waterman.
Indiana counties
Lake County, Indiana — Hammond, Gary, East Chicago, Whiting, Munster, Highland, Griffith, Schererville, Dyer, Merrillville, Hobart, Crown Point, St. John, Cedar Lake, Lowell.
Porter County — Portage, Valparaiso, Chesterton, Burns Harbor, Porter, Hebron, Kouts.
Jasper County — Rensselaer, DeMotte, Wheatfield.
Newton County — Kentland, Morocco, Brook.
State and local requirements are separate questions in Indiana. A staffed warehouse can be a Class 1 structure, but the particular work may be exempt from state filing. The edges of the metro
Kankakee and Bourbonnais, Michigan City and La Porte, and the Ottawa area sit outside the thirteen-county reference below. Describe the address when you call and those are reviewed case by case.
Where this geography comes from
The county list uses the July 2023 federal delineation of Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN. The Census Bureau's current guidance still identifies July 2023 as its latest delineation; the federal metro-to-county roster identifies the nine Illinois and four Indiana counties listed here (checked September 18, 2026).
Two practical notes. The thirteen-county reference is IL-IN; Kenosha County, Wisconsin is not part of that roster. Statistical geography is a reference, not a provider's service territory: no drive radius is implied, and the independent provider confirms the facility address and its own availability.
