Chattanooga Dock & Door Repair Service Area
Call (385) 325-7138 about dock and commercial door repair at facilities across the Chattanooga TN–GA area: Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie counties in Tennessee, and Catoosa, Dade, and Walker counties in Georgia. Give the actual facility address — the independent provider confirms the address and whether it can take the work.
Call to describe the problem—if the door is stuck open or the dock is down, say so first.
Independent service-request website. Calls may be shared with an independent commercial dock-and-door repair company. That provider confirms availability, scope, pricing, and service terms.

Why does the exact facility address matter?
Two reasons: the municipal boundary determines the starting permit office, and the state line changes the applicable code system.
One. A postal place name does not establish which office administers the building. Confirm the parcel's municipality or county jurisdiction before asking about the proposed work.
Two. This is a two-state metro. Georgia uses 2024 IBC/IFC and NEC 2023 with Georgia amendments; the Tennessee jurisdictions below publish 2018 building/fire codes but different electrical editions. Same trucks, same equipment, different project requirements.
So when someone asks "where is the facility," they are not making small talk.
| Facility jurisdiction | Building / fire and electrical editions published | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| City of Chattanooga, TN | 2018 IBC / IFC; NEC 2023 (codes) | City commercial permits |
| Unincorporated Hamilton County, TN | 2018 IBC / IFC; NEC 2020, effective Jan 1, 2022 | Hamilton County Building Inspection |
| Soddy-Daisy, TN | 2018 IBC / IFC; NEC 2017 | City Building & Permits |
| East Ridge, TN | 2018 IBC / IFC; NEC 2023 with city amendments | East Ridge Building Codes |
| Other Hamilton County municipalities | Confirm the responsible office and current adoption; some cities use county inspections | County municipal contacts |
| Marion & Sequatchie, TN | Confirm the municipal/county adoption for the actual parcel | Responsible city or county building office |
| Catoosa, Dade, Walker, GA | 2024 IBC / IFC; NEC 2023 with Georgia amendments | Georgia codes, then the responsible city/county office |
Hamilton County, Tennessee
Chattanooga is the principal city. The county's industrial-property references identify Enterprise South, Bonny Oaks, and Centre South Riverport; give the specific facility and opening rather than only a district name. Start at the metro homepage.
For equipment selectors and address-specific permit questions in these communities:
- Ooltewah — an unincorporated community; confirm whether the parcel is county-administered or within a municipality such as Collegedale.
- Soddy-Daisy — its own permits office, with 2018 building/fire codes and NEC 2017 in the published list.
- East Ridge — its own Building Codes Division on the Tennessee side of the Georgia line, with 2018 building/fire codes and NEC 2023.
Other Hamilton County municipalities and communities. Collegedale, Red Bank, Lakesite, Signal Mountain, Walden, Ridgeside, and Lookout Mountain, Tennessee are all in the request area. So are Hixson, Harrison, Apison, and East Brainerd — useful address labels rather than four additional municipal permit authorities. The county's contact directory assigns construction permits and inspections for Ridgeside and Walden to Hamilton County Building Inspection. Confirm the actual parcel for other addresses.
Note for anyone with a building on Lookout Mountain: there is a Lookout Mountain in Tennessee and a Lookout Mountain in Georgia, and they are different municipalities in different states. Say which.
Marion County, Tennessee
Jasper, Kimball, South Pittsburg, Whitwell, Powells Crossroads, New Hope, and Orme are in the Marion County request area. Give the municipality and street address so the office for any permitted work can be identified.
Two things to flag when you call from Marion County:
- Some municipalities extend across county lines. Parts of Monteagle and parts of Chattanooga sit in Marion County. Give the address rather than the town name alone.
- The scope is commercial loading docks and building-mounted doors, not marine docks or boat lifts.
Sequatchie County, Tennessee
Dunlap is the county seat, with facilities elsewhere in Sequatchie County also in the request area. Confirm whether the parcel is inside the city or county-administered, then ask which office handles the proposed work.
Manufacturing, distribution, fleet, and workshop facilities are in scope. You do not need a freight dock to call; a drive-in door on a shop is included.
Catoosa County, Georgia
Ringgold is the local destination for dock and overhead-door questions. Catoosa County's economic-development authority identifies manufacturing, distribution, and I-75 access. Use the facility address to distinguish city and county permit responsibilities.
Fort Oglethorpe spans Catoosa and Walker counties. Give the street address and confirm which city/county office handles the specific building, trade, or fire approval.
Everything on the Georgia side runs on Georgia's rules, not Tennessee's, regardless of how people describe the area.
Dade County, Georgia
Trenton is Dade County's county seat and incorporated city. Rising Fawn and Wildwood are unincorporated communities — useful for saying where a building is, not for identifying a municipal permit office.
Proximity to Alabama does not extend the request area into Alabama. Georgia rules apply to Georgia sites.
Walker County, Georgia
Rossville is the local destination for dock and overhead-door questions at the Chattanooga–Georgia line. Confirm whether the parcel is inside the city or county-administered before choosing between Rossville Codes Enforcement and Walker County Planning & Zoning / Inspections.
Also in the request area: LaFayette, Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain, Georgia, the Walker County portion of Fort Oglethorpe, and unincorporated facilities around Rock Spring, where the county offices are.
Just outside the six counties
Requests around Cleveland and the Bradley–Polk area, Dalton and the Whitfield–Murray area, and out-of-county Monteagle get looked at case by case. Give the address and the equipment, and the provider decides — that is more useful than a blanket yes or a blanket no.
The six counties above form the researched core request area. Outside it, give the address and equipment for a case-by-case discussion.
Which equipment page do you need?
| Your task | Where to go |

| Coiling curtain | Roll-up & rolling-steel repair |
| Seals, shelters, bumpers, lights | Dock equipment repair |

Scope exclusions. Commercial facilities only. Not residential garages; boat docks or boat lifts; truck or trailer cargo doors; pedestrian storefront, automatic-entry, glass, or hollow-metal walk-through doors and their locks or closers; parts-only orders; or structural concrete, pit, and slab work.
Call with the facility location and what stopped working
Describe where the building is and what the equipment is doing. The company that takes the work confirms the address, scope, availability, pricing, and service terms.
If you reach voicemail, leave the facility address, the door or dock number if known, what's wrong, and a callback number.
