Knoxville

For property within Knoxville city, Plans Review and Permits lists commercial alteration/repair and electrical categories and its application route. Ask which categories apply to the proposed door, operator or equipment work and who will make the submission.

The city posts 2024 building, existing-building and fire codes and its other adopted editions. Knox County's separate published code-adoption history must not be substituted for the city's requirements, or vice versa. A street address and confirmation of the municipal boundary are more useful than “Knoxville” on the postal address alone.

Farragut

Farragut spans Knox and Loudon counties. The town's Building and Fire Codes office provides the town permit route and states that electrical inspections are performed through LCUB.

Ask the town about the actual project and confirm the electrical responsibility if that work is involved. The county line alone does not determine which office handles a property inside the town.

Hardin Valley

The Knoxville Chamber describes Hardin Business Park along Hardin Valley Road near Pellissippi Parkway in west Knox County. That reference can help you describe a facility's location when calling about a dock, warehouse door or commercial shop bay.

Give the street address as well as the park or area name. The property boundary still determines the local permitting path.

Anderson County
