Formula and worked example

Gross rolling weight = documented truck weight + separately documented weights not already included + complete carried load.

For hypothetical complete operating truck weight of 10,000 lb and complete carried load of 5,000 lb, with all relevant components already included, the result is 15,000 lb. Assuming an applicable method specified 2.5, the arithmetic would be 37,500 lb. On a hypothetical same-basis list of 35,000 / 40,000 / 45,000 lb, the first value not below that result is 40,000 lb. No equipment or bay is approved by that example.

The tool does not model speed, grade, impact force, tire contact, structural condition or duty. A larger leveler rating does not increase a forklift’s lifting capacity.
