## What this dataset is — and is not

This is a selected cross-manufacturer reference, not a complete market census. The 56 model/configuration rows were chosen to cover the movement layouts, catalog labels, duty tiers, specialty applications, and examples used by the accompanying article. One row represents one named model or manufacturer-published configuration, not every horsepower, voltage, phase, enclosure, control, or accessory SKU.

Manufacturer specifications are manufacturer-stated for the named product and source page. They are not independent tests, universal ratings, or compatibility approval for a particular door.

## How to read every figure

- A `cycles_per_hour` or `cycles_per_day` value is the manufacturer's own published rating for the named model/configuration on the cited page.
- One cycle means closed → open → closed under DASMA TDS #160 and TDS #350.
- `not published on the cited page` means unknown in this reference, not zero.
- `none stated in this normalization` means Uptime did not add a modifier beyond the manufacturer's type label.
- Raynor ControlHoist Basic publishes one combined statement: `14 cycles/hour or 50 cycles/day`. Both dataset fields preserve that wording rather than silently changing “or” to “and.”
- `★ Source-reported` means the row was checked against the cited issuer's own page or document.
- No value is borrowed from a similar product, sibling brand, reseller, or old catalog when a current manufacturer page was available.

## Uptime's normalization

The dataset separates:

1. `manufacturer_type_label` — the manufacturer's own product/type wording.
2. `uptime_normalized_base_layout` — Uptime's comparison field: trolley/drawbar, shaft-driven/jackshaft, sliding, a specialty product-specific layout, or multiple published layouts.
3. `uptime_normalized_modifiers` — manual-chain hoist, gearhead/gear reduction, DC motor, enclosure, brake, fire-door package, or other secondary descriptors.

These normalized fields are editorial synthesis, not a new standard or a claim that every custom industrial operator fits the framework.

A starting-family reference. Every row requires final model/system verification against the door and operator manufacturers' instructions.

## Missing-value rules

- No blank cells.
- Unknown values use explicit text such as `not published on the cited page`.
- A missing or unstated value is never zero.
- No value is inferred from a similar model or converted into a universal duty class.

## Excluded on purpose

- Residential-only openers, vehicular gate operators, and automatic pedestrian-door operators.
- Horsepower, voltage, phase, enclosure, or accessory variants that do not create a distinct named configuration in this selected reference.
- Specifications available only from a reseller when an adequate manufacturer source could not be verified.
- Compatibility judgments, market share, product quality rankings, and service-life estimates.

## Refresh

Recheck every six months, or sooner when a source redirects, a manufacturer changes a product line, DASMA revises a cited sheet, UL revises the active standard, or an internal route changes. Update the visible verification date only after the source review actually runs.
