# Commercial Door Clearance Data Dictionary

Version 1.0. Primary sources checked September 29, 2026.

The main ledger has 181 stable source records from ten core manufacturer pages or PDFs and eight brand labels. A record is not a door model, a tested installation or an independent manufacturer. Supplemental document checks are separate, and the main record links to them where needed.

## Main fields

`row_id`: permanent source-observation ID, also the page fragment `#row-<row_id>`.
`door_family`, `brand`, `setup`, `track_in`, `radius_in`, `operation`: the source category, not a universal compatibility label. A combined `2 and 3` is kept as published rather than counted as two independent tests.
`size_scope`: exact printed height/width scope or a missing-scope note. All OHD table height bands are door height, not opening height. Preserve overlapping printed bands.
`dimension`: what the observation measures.
`value_kind`: `fixed` and `range` describe source statements; `possible_allowance_up_to` has no verified lower bound; `as_little_as` is a lower-bound statement, not an exact universal requirement; `ambiguous_formula` and `incomplete_formula` are not executable. Incomplete Amarr high-lift numeric fragments stay in `as_published`, not in normalized min/max fields.
`min_in`, `max_in`: inch values only. Empty means not stated or not safely normalized, never zero. A single supported lower-bound statement has no invented maximum.
`formula`: readable source formula, not executable code. DH and OH are separate variables. Do not evaluate malformed or unresolved wording.
`weight_limit_lb`: weight limit in pounds; never convert it to an inch column.
`as_published`: short source transcription; wording may be normalized and is not uniformly a verbatim quote.
`measured_from`: source-defined measurement datum or an explicit missing-datum note. An opening-height term in a shaft formula does not prove a headroom measurement origin.
`source_id`, `source_url`, `source_date`, `checked`: primary provenance. A checked date is not a publication, amendment or effective date. Core source dates remain even when supporting documents are newer.
`status`: verification of the source statement; does not mean installation suitability established.
`source_locator`, `supporting_source_url`, `source_check_method`, `note`, `audit_note`: section/table, supplemental evidence, what was actually read, and interpretation limits. URLs separated by ` | ` are separate supporting documents.

## Comparison files

The eight-row spread file uses selected point statements from the core overview/table sources and first printed height bands. It is not an exhaustive minimum search across every maker drawing. Wayne Dalton drum-dependent headroom ranges are not point observations; its fixed +20 vertical offset is included. Garaga's 15 and 16 observations are both retained. Seven rows measure headroom; one measures additions to height. Never use the final row as a headroom value or compute a headroom ratio from its offsets.

The 13-row front/rear file uses named source-page categories and matching or overlapping printed scopes. The OHD through-12-ft front/through-18-ft rear row is explicit. Amarr pairs use overview-page values; the 3-inch front drawing reports other hardware-specific entries. Differences are not guaranteed retrofit gains. Only the four HOL/IDL pairs have the comparable source backroom formulas used for +7.

`calculations-v1.0.csv` retains the original K01–K18 summary IDs and adds cell-level math. `result_numeric` retains more precision than printed ratios; public ratios use two decimal places. `table` locates the public use. All examples are hypothetical; no operator allowance is silently assumed.

`source-register-v1.0.csv` lists core, supplemental and online-claim sources separately by use. `supplemental-document-checks-v1.0.csv` records text-only drawing observations and image-access limits. `numbers-checked-v1.0.csv` records claims in two online articles as claims, not technical evidence.

## Reproduction

Place all data CSVs and `reproduce-headroom-v1.0.py` together, or leave CSVs in `data/` next to the script, and run `python reproduce-headroom-v1.0.py`. It validates record counts, fractions, all arithmetic categories and known source-scope exclusions without network access.
