# Dock Leveler Price Ledger v1.1 — Data Dictionary

**Coverage:** Selected US-facing USD offers; 74 observations, not 74 unique models. The price register has 18 listing records (15 single displayed amounts, two advertised lower bounds, one configuration range) plus 56 reseller matrix cells. The separate pit reference contains 56 standard Vestil RR rows. The index file contains 13 selected WPU1144 months from May 2016 through August 2026, not the full monthly history. FRED data vintage: 10 September 2026.

## Evidence, dates and missing values

`star` means Source-reported; `mixed` separates named source-reported and calculated fields. A calculated value requires verified inputs. These are not live quotes, independent equipment tests or engineering approvals.

A source-review date is not a supplier effective-price date. A retrieved page may be cached. Capture ages are recorded as returned, not converted into invented exact dates. In this release all supplier effective-price dates are unknown.

An empty CSV cell equals JSON `null`: unknown or not applicable to that field. It is not zero, not proof the source never published a value, and not proof a charge is included or excluded. The row’s scope identifies why a value is absent. Numeric values remain decimal strings in JSON so CSV and JSON round-trip exactly; consumers may parse them deliberately. Strings such as `not recorded` preserve an explicit retrieval limitation.

## Joining and calculating

The Diverse Supply DS-RR table does not explicitly name Vestil in its retrieved text. Matching size codes and capacity columns are crosswalked to the manufacturer’s RR chart; this is a reference join, not confirmation that a seller will supply that brand/configuration. Preserve `model_join_method` with any reuse of joined specifications.

Reported family-chart weights are not normalized into assembled or shipping weights. Preserve the header and its footnote, and any individual-sheet differences.

Price difference: `(comparison/base −1)*100`. Mean capacity difference: unweighted mean of eight within-size 20,000-to-50,000 lb ratios. Price per 1,000 lb: `price/(rating/1000)`; not an equipment-selection rule. Nominal area is NOT actual deck area.

Index factor: `340.672/reference_month_index`. Dollar illustrations use 3,500 or 10,000 multiplied by the unrounded factor. Decimal arithmetic uses half-up rounding: money to whole dollars for index examples, one decimal for displayed percentages, two decimals for price-per-rating, ten decimals for stored factors. Recompute from the reported source values rather than multiplying by a rounded factor.

The pit lookup relationship (`nominal feet*12+2` for width, `nominal feet*12−10` for length) is tested against the 56 standard RR chart rows. It does not define every required installation dimension, front/back depth profile, clearance or structural condition.
